THE MUSE.
High on a seat of Aether, dazzling bright,
Sat the glad muse, above the shades of night.
Through heaven's expanse she turns her wand'ring eyes,
Sees worlds on worlds revolving through the skies.
. . . [20 more lines]
She casts her eyes o'er men, and beasts, and things,
Roves unconfin'd, and what she likes she sings.
